The Devil Wears Prada 2

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is an anticipated sequel to the hit film The Devil Wears Prada, continuing the story of the high-stakes fashion world and its powerful personalities.

The film is expected to revisit Miranda Priestly, the legendary and intimidating editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. Years after the original story, Miranda is now facing a changing industry. Traditional print media is declining, and digital platforms, influencers, and social media are reshaping the fashion landscape. For perhaps the first time, Miranda must fight to maintain her dominance in a world she no longer fully controls.

Meanwhile, Emily Charlton, once Miranda’s sharp-tongued assistant, has risen in the fashion world and now works as a powerful executive for a luxury brand. She controls major advertising budgets—making her someone Miranda must now negotiate with rather than command.

The story may also reconnect with Andrea Sachs, who left Runway to pursue a journalism career. Now more experienced and confident, Andy could find herself drawn back into the fashion world, possibly as a writer, editor, or even a competitor. Her return would create emotional tension, as she must confront her past and her complicated relationship with Miranda.

This weekend, The Devil Wears Prada 2 will become the first female-driven movie in modern history to kick off the summer box office, a duty that has generally gone to a Marvel superhero pic.

One exception was Universal’s The Fall Guy in 2024, the Ryan Gosling-Emily Blunt starrer which could never quite decide whether it was an action movie or a romancer. It opened to a sorely disappointing $27.7 million.

It did, however, ultimately get to nearly $200 million worldwide by the time it fled theaters. If tracking and the dizzying pace of advance ticket sales are correct, 20th Century’s Prada 2 will earn nearly $200 million in its global debut alone.
