Rocky V (1990)

Rocky V follows Rocky Balboa after his return from his fight with Ivan Drago. Although Rocky is celebrated as a champion, he discovers that his accountant has mishandled his finances, leaving him nearly broke.

Rocky and his family return to Philadelphia, where he reconnects with his former trainer, Mickey Goldmill, through memories of their years together. Rocky decides to train a young and talented fighter named Tommy Gunn, hoping to help him become a champion.

As Tommy’s career grows, he becomes increasingly influenced by promoter George Washington Duke, who convinces him that Rocky is holding him back. Tommy eventually leaves Rocky and begins pursuing fame and money on his own.

Rocky is deeply hurt by Tommy’s betrayal, while his relationship with his son Robert also becomes strained because Rocky has been focusing so much attention on Tommy.

Eventually, Tommy challenges Rocky to a street fight outside a bar in Philadelphia. Rocky initially refuses, but after Tommy insults his family and attacks Paulie, Rocky fights back.

The two battle through the streets until Rocky is knocked down. Inspired by a vision of Mickey telling him to get back up, Rocky rises and defeats Tommy.
